Club Fitting and Technology:
Would you like to have your own tour van at your disposal while working on your swing with one of our certified instructors? With more than five years of experience working with several Tour level players, our club fitting technician certified by Rifle CRC and Mitchell Golf offers high performance fitting in every game area: woods, irons, wedges, and putters.
Through the latest in golf performance monitors we are able to gather, and most importantly effectively interpret and tie in together fundamental data such as launch angle, spin-rate, club head speed, ball speed, and finally power transfer ratio(PTR%), to provide the ideal club set that maximizes the player’s skills.
Our fitter is assisted by an instructor to ensure that technique flaws do not affect the overall result of the fitting. Our goal is get things right the first time by taking in consideration what the player’s objectives are, and providing him with the best fit that will allow him/her to grow as a player. We bring fitting to the next level.

Basic Golf Club Fitting Glossary
Backspin: is the rate at which the ball spins backward immediately after impact, measured in revolutions per minute. Backspin is necessary to create the lift that gets and keeps the ball in the air; however, too much spin may negatively affect the ball trajectory causing a loss in distance.
Ball Speed: is the speed of the ball immediately after impact measured in miles per hour. Ball speed depends on variables not only including club head speed, but also including impact location, face angle, and shaft flex. This is why greater club head speed doesn’t necessarily mean greater ball speed.
Bounce: is the measurement in degrees of the angle from the front edge of a club's sole to the point that actually rests on the ground at address.
Club Speed (Velocity): is the speed that the clubhead travels through impact of the ball.
Launch Angle: is the angle of the path on which the ball leaves the clubface, measured in degrees in relation to horizontal. Ideal launch angle depends upon the ball speed and the spin-rate generated. Our goal is to achieve the ideal launch and spin-rate (backspin) based on the ball speed to achieve maximum distance.
Length: the proper club length will allow for ideal posture at address and will result in the most consistent on-center impacts.
Lie Angle:is the angle formed between the center of the shaft and the ground line of the club when the club is soled in its proper playing position.
Power Transfer Ratio (PTR%): is calculated as Ball Velocity / Club Speed x 100%. This represents an indication of centeredness of impact between the ball and clubface, and represents how effectively and efficiently club speed is transferred to the ball.
Shaft Flex: is a comparative measurement of a shaft's resistance to bending or deflection, under a specified stress or load.Proper shaft flex allows the player to load the shaft properly and maximize energy transfer to the ball (PTR%). Other parameters, such as tip stiffness, butt stiffness, shaft weight, and kick point come into play when determining the best fit and trying to achieve the tightest dispersion pattern on the clubface.
Wood Fitting
High launch. Low spin. Maximum ball velocity. These are the ingredients to maximize driving distance. Our fitting methodology takes that general advice and uses industry-leading fitting technology to determine each golfer's ideal launch conditions based upon their ball speed, load and release patterns, and power transfer ratio (PTR%).
By observing your current trajectory and performance our fitter can determine potential areas for improvement by working with one of our certified instructors. Integrating fitting with teaching is the new frontier to maximize any skill-leveled player’s potential.
Based upon the results from your driver testing our fitter will prescribe the ideal driver and will emphasize the key factors that lead to that decision. The selected driver will provide launch conditions that optimize ball flight and control while delivering maximum distance.
Iron Fitting
During the iron fitting process, our fitter will determine which model and specifications best meet the individual golfer's needs to enable better scoring.
The fitter will observe current ball flight tendencies, and discuss your preferred ball flight, carry distances and ball-stopping performance expectations, while our instructors will discuss the player’s personal swing characteristics. Our fitter is going to check shaft flex, club length, and lie angle, which all have a significant effect on a player's ball flight and are easily identified and diagnosed. When lie angle and club length do not fit the player's swing correctly the ball flight will often force changes in their swing, and the player can develop poor swing mechanics. Iron ball flight is largely based on the player's swing characteristics, which can be fine-tuned with varying head and shaft properties.
Our club fitter will review which clubs are selected and discuss their recommendation with the golfer so there is a clear understanding as to why each club specification was chosen.
Wedge Fitting
The goal of a wedge fitting is to provide the best combination of wedges to optimize short game performance and yardage gaps necessary for lowering scores.
The player's wedge lofts and bounce in their current set are evaluated and the player will hit shots with each club from several lies such as sand, rough, and fairway. Our fitter will observe turf contact/bounce, lie angles, carry distances, spin rates, and trajectory.
After completion of the Wedge Fitting, the golfer has selected their desired wedge specifications and a loft progression that provides consistent and predictable distances.
Putter Fitting
Stop adjusting your posture and technique to off-the-shelve putters, and get a putter that fits YOUR set up position and your putting style for maximum consistency!
During the putting fitting process our fitter is going to utilize the latest technology in putting performance monitors to measure clubface at address, clubface at impact, swing path, face direction in relation to the path, loft, rise, and rhythm. After collaborating with one of our coaches to assess the player’s technique and address eventual flaws, our fitter is going to work on the putter’s length, loft, lie, swing weight, and shaft frequency to match the player’s set up and feel preferences.
